LGBTQ+ Life Coaching

Life Coaching for Gay Men and LGBTQ+ individuals:
supporting you without judgement

Let’s be honest: the odds haven’t always been in our favour.

Gay men and LGBTQ+ people are statistically

  • more likely to face serious mental health challenges

  • more likely to deal with addiction, shame, or cycles of self-sabotage

  • more likely to experience family rejection, disapproval of others, and loneliness

  • more likely to mask their identity in order to feel safe

  • more likely to have difficulties building meaningful relationships

  • more likely to spend a lifetime trying to prove themselves—and still feel like it's not enough.

And if you’re here now, looking for support, that does't mean you’re broken — it means you're ready.

Life can get better — with the right support

Maybe...

  • life looks fine from the outside — but inside, you feel something's missing

  • you're tired of living up to everyone else's expectations

  • you only feel free when you let go — then guilt and shame drags you back down

  • you're stuck in habits that are wearing you out

  • your inner critic sounds like whole committee picking at everything you do

  • your emotions are either too much or never enough

  • you've been burned one too many times before

  • everyone else seems to be thriving while you’re still failing inside

You don’t have to keep going through this on your own.

Coaching offers a non-judgmental, supportive space to make sense of what’s happening — where you can start shifting things, one step at a time.

How LGBTQ + coaching can help

You don’t need a crisis or a diagnosis to start. Just a willingness to see your life differently.

Coaching helps you:

  • untangle what’s really holding you back

  • recognize patterns that no longer serve you

  • move beyond people-pleasing and perfectionism

  • set boundaries that work for you

  • build deeper, more authentic connections — with others and with yourself

  • clarify personal and professional goals and move towards them with more confidence

  • Cut through the noise from social media and expectations to reconnect with the real you

You don't need to fix everything overnight.  You just need to begin.

Transformational Coaching: Client Success

"Turning 50 as a gay man has been harder than I imagined.  I never expected to be single at this stage or moving back home - I felt overwhelmed and doubted my ability to recover.

Paul has been a great coach — offering both empathy and keeping me focussed on practical strategies. He’s helped me reconnect with a sense of pride in myself as a gay man, and to look ahead with strength instead of getting stuck in the past.”

Who I am (and why it matters)

I am a gay man who has lived in and around London for almost three decades. Over the years, I have experienced the many complexities of LGBTQ+ life — from the joyful and liberating to the painful and isolating.

I know what it means to feel pressure to be someone you’re not. I have seen the personal cost of visibility, as well as the quiet damage caused by staying hidden. Like many in my generation, I have experienced grief and loss — and witnessed the impact of that loss within our communities. These experiences, combined with a long-standing commitment to personal development and a realisation that things get better with the right support, are what led me to become a coach.

My practice is informed by a broader engagement with the LGBTQ+ community. I have had the privilege of listening to and learning from individuals whose lives differ greatly from my own — including lesbian, bisexual, trans, and non-binary people (and yes, straight people too!) — and those conversations continue to shape my approach.

Different Keys is an inclusive, affirming space where meaningful change becomes possible — on your terms, and in line with your values.

I’m here to listen with care, to understand your story on your terms, and to help you explore new ways forward —  finding a better you and creating a better future.
